Hi and thanks for stopping by. My name is Bronwyn and I'm the founder of Finding Family Stories. I'm passionate about family history and helping others to find their stories to share with friends and family in ways that are not just a boring collection of names, dates and places. And if a family secret is uncovered along the way, they are always treated with respect, sensitivity and within the context of the time.
I am skilled in researching and writing reports thanks to a career in both the public and private sectors spanning over 25 years. I volunteered for my local family history group in the Australian Capital Territory where I was an active member of various special interest groups covering convicts and transportation, English and Welsh heritage, and family history writing. Upon relocating to Victoria, I was elected as a Committee Member of my local family history group; a role I held for two years.
A registered and recognised Record Agent and Genealogist with the Australasian Association of Record Agents & Genealogists (AAGRA), I have a Diploma of Family History from the University of Tasmania, a Certificate of Genealogical Studies from the Society of Australian Genealogists, and a Bachelor of Music Education from the University of Newcastle.
Memberships include the National Archives of Australia, National Library of Australia, Heraldry and Genealogy Society of Canberra (Family History ACT), Society of Australian Genealogists, Genealogical Society of Victoria (GSV), Oral History Victoria, Public Record Office Victoria, State Library of Victoria and Writers’ Victoria.
